This morning I was actually told "Sorry, but you can't shop here". I was stunned to hear someone telling me I couldn't shop there (particularly at a store I love) but I was even more stunned to hear why. This happened with the Cosmetics Company Store about an hour away from me.
I went there last week and I found some great discontinued stuff that I was really excited about. Since I was trying to be nice, I shared what I found with the community and I ended up making a few trips to buy some of the stuff since not everyone has one of these stores around them. I marked up the items I bought but only enough to cover the cost of shipping these things out. I had so many people wanting the stuff I had access to that I ended up making 3 trips to this store, driving almost an hour each way. I'm not complaining about that though, I could spend all day in that store playing with the colors.
I had a few people that asked me if I was going back so I could get a few more things and I agreed to go. When I called to see if they had the things in stock, the lady on the phone actually asked "Are you Carla?". When I said yes, that's when she told me I couldn't shop there anymore. I was angry about that but what made me even more upset is why. Apparently someone from the community went to the store and said I was selling things for profit. Of course it wasn't true, I had actually lost money because I hadn't calculated shipping correctly and the cost of mailing supplies. Was this person so pissed that I possibly got something they wanted that they went and ratted on me?
I think the responses in this post sums things up pretty well... Now all I can do is wait for the store's manager to call me back. I left a message for the manager to see if I can resolve this. I can uderstand why the store would do that but what bugs me most of all is that I'm being told I can't go somewhere.
